Rice – Fish – Horticulture generating additional income:

DISASTER PRONE (DROUGHT, FLOOD & CYCLONE PRONE ETC)

Mr. Sashi is a small farmer who would put his land only to the cultivation of rice. Cultivation of a single crop and the income it generated failed to meet the basic requirements of his family.

IFS were introduced to him post which he put his land to the cultivation of improved rice and vegetable cultivation. Fishery was also integrated as part of his practice. Ever since the adoption of rice – fish – vegetable IFS module, he has started earning Rs 50,000 – Rs 60,000 per annum. With savings, he was able to purchase improved seeds and fingerling during the second year.

Ever since the adoption of IFS he is able to meet the basic requirements of his family and is also able to save some income for the long run.
